Team Cutie Bao (T-Shirts)
Meet my family: Nanay ("mother" in Tagalog), Duju (my nibling's nickname), and Appa ("father" in Korean).
What once started as "Cutie Pie" between my sister and her partner evolved to "Cutie Bao" when their child was born, whose round face aptly looked like the shape of a bao—and was just so darn cute! I kept hearing them lovingly call each other this so I decided to design t-shirts just for their team of three.
Each person was illustrated in bao form. The illustrations were vectorized in Illustrator, paired with a cute, whimsical typeface, and embellished with hearts and flowers to complete the front design. On the back of the shirts, their individual name was accompanied by a smaller version of their bao face.
When Duju saw the shirts, they were able to point out and name each bao person—making the t-shirts officially kid and family-approved.
